Here come the girls

If you’ve always thought of football as a male preserve, this summer will make you change your mind!

 

The sixth Carrickfergus Ladies Football Festival will bring together a spectacular array of talent in the sport that has long been seen as a male sport. From Thursday 17th July to Saturday 19th July 2008, 4 matches will be played each night (Thursday & Friday) with the first match starting at 6.30pm.

Ballymena United Allstars

Ballymena United Allstars LFC were formed in 1995 and over the past number of years they have become a very popular team in their home town.


Having entered the Carrickfergus International Ladies Football festival for the first time in 2007, the team certainly set the standard for all following years as they claimed the University of Ulster Plate Cup against Northland Raiders by a nail biting three goals to two.

Belfast United Glentoran return to the Carrickfergus International Ladies Football Festival for 2008 having won the plate competition on two previous occasions in 2003 and 2004.

Carrick Rangers Post Office Ladies

Carrick Rangers Post Office Ladies are delighted to be involved once again in the Carrickfergus International Ladies Football Festival.  The club is a merger between Carrick Rangers and the Post Office Ladies Football Club.

 

The senior side has had a phenomenal start to season. The additional experience added to the squad this year has created a buzz and expectancy for success for the rest of the year and beyond.

Cliftonville Ladies

Now under new management, the team have been part of the Carrickfergus International Ladies Football Festival from the 1st year; this has been an enjoyable and competitive tournament for the team. The girls hope to put in another show of top performances this year for the Carrickfergus International Ladies Football Festival and hopefully come away with a trophy.

Larne Ladies

Having experienced the Carrickfergus Ladies Football Festival in previous years and having thoroughly enjoyed learning experience for Larne which helped the club through its initial development phase, we are pleased to announce that the team will be entering the festival once more.  The Festival will be an ideal opportunity for teambuilding and it will be a great measure for improvement since last year.
